Vision Board
"Cherish you visions and your dreams as they are the children of your soul; the blue prints of your ultimate achievements." Napoleon Hill
One of the best ways to get and stay on track to living Your Amazing Journey is to create a Vision Board or as I like to call it a Journey Board. A Journey Board is a collection of pictures, quotes of images that match up to the goals you have set for yourself. Your brain works on both the conscious and subconscious level. In order to work at both levels, your brain needs to see and hear what your are wanting to achieve. I have found that the best way to communicate with your subconscious mind is to create a Journey Board.
There are several ways that I have personally seen this work, both for myself and others I have worked with. The first way is to get a poster board and cut out pictures and phrases that apply to the goals you are wanting to achieve out of magazines or print them off the internet.

I found Google Images to be an excellent source of pictures. Simply find, print out, cut and glue these items to the board. Make sure that you find things to represent goals that you want to achieve in all areas of your life. Try to keep it neat and orderly so that your brain, which works much like a computer, can visualize, sort and process all of the items easily. Here is another tip, if you choose to use the poster board option, take a picture of it and use it as a screen saver or background on your computer as well. Take a look at some samples below.

If you are more high-tech and need additional mental stimulation, then the Vision Board Resource I have below is also an excellent tool. With this option you get access to 1000's of pictures, music, moving images, affirmations and 5 boards to use. Unlike the poster board method, there could be a higher cost to this option. However, if you are like me and spend a lot time on the computer, then this is a great way to keep your vision in front of you everyday and even throughout the day. The company offers you a free trial for 7 days and even a 6 month plan, however if this is the route you choose, I would highly recommend you go ahead with the 1 year option for $29.95. In my opinion, this is a small investment to keep yourself focused on what you are wanting to accomplish. It might even turn out cheaper if you do like I did on my first Journey Board and go to the book store and buy multiple travel, hobby and business magazines just to cut them up!
No matter which option you choose, it is very important that you make sure that you are really looking at your Journey Board every day. That will be very easy if you use the computer version. If you make a poster Journey Board, hang it in your bedroom or bathroom if you want or need to keep it semi-private. However, one of the best ways to affirm your goals is to share them with others. Put it in your den or office and watch peoples reaction. I have found that people can't help but ask what it is. Be proud, tell them those are the goals your are currently working towards. Be sure and point out the ones you have already achieved! Either way, at least be sure to share it with those that you are closest to. You will be amazed at how much quicker and easier you can achieve your dreams when you share them with others. It helps make you accountable and also to attract others into helping you achieve your goals.
Remember, the most important part of this process and the first step is to actually do it! Make it a family activity or something you do with a friend. I can tell you personally, that the first Journey Board that I created we did it as a family. It was a terrific experience to get to hear and share goals as a family. I have since also done this exercise in a small group setting. It is a great way to really get to know someone and to verbalize and be proud of your goals and dreams. If you come to one of our Retreats, this is an exercise that I can guarantee you will be one of your favorite memories!
OK, here is your assignment. Either: 1. Click the link and begin working on your board. 2. Start printing out pictures and writing phrases you plan to use. or 3. (my favorite option)- Go call or tell someone you like that you are having a Journey Board party and they are invited!
Be sure and go on the Your Amazing Journal Forum or my Blog and tell us about your experience. You can even email me a copy of your Journey Board to Clifton@youramazingjourney.com. Be sure to let me know if it is OK to share it with our group.
